Najib: Great Speeches, Empty Rhetoric

I'm getting tired of the rhetoric already. The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak had another "inspiring" speech made at Batu Caves today to an "expectant" Indian crowd. He told them:
"If we are as one people, if we are as one nation, if we are as one dream, we will be a stronger Malaysia. We must look forward to a bigger, and better future, predicated on a united Malaysia. It is imperative to make it (mutual respect among the races), a part of the psyche and way of life.

"That is why 1Malaysia is about changing mindsets from mere tolerance to one of total acceptance of a plural society. The plural society is a political reality that is an asset and not a liability. A strength and not a weakness.
Great speech writer, hopefully worth the millions being paid for the public relations services. But it's rings hollow like an empty vessel. The rakyat will have to be stupid to buy his rhetoric. It's a feels a little like Robert Mugabe giving a speech made by Abraham Lincoln.

Read Utusan Malaysia over the past week, a newspaper owned by UMNO, headed by Najib. Hear what his deputy, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has been saying over the past month about UMNO being the only party that protects the interest of the Malays, and that any Malay in the opposition is a traitor to their race etc. And listen to the bigoted religious rhetoric coming from none other than the "reformed" UMNO Youth Chief, Khairy Jamaluddin, who suddenly became the champion of Islam.

You will have to be quite an idiot to believe Najib and UMNO's sincerity. It's a clear case of continued BN "divide and rule" policy. Najib will sing all the nice stuff to "all Malaysians", especially when speaking to a non-Malay audience. His henchmen in the party, and their official mouthpieces - Utusan Malaysia and Berita Harian will then sing another song to their hardcore Malay ground to "unite Malay-Muslims" against "the threat of non-Malays".

It's nearly 2.30 am in the morning now, but I still feel like spewing invectives after reading the above news report.

Actually I don't think the speechwriter should be fired.

IF?

At a time people are asking for leadership, he is telling the people, they must lead rather than him. He is telling him, the job is theirs, not his. At a time when people feel emptied of hope and promises, he does not give hope but ask of it from the people..

Its a crappy speech..

It reveal a mindset that is trying way too hard NOT to overpromis, not to promise anything..Its just irresponsibile - the prodigal son revealed..

Let him bark! Bark all day long!
Nobody is listening to him. The ballot box decides...

I cant help pitying him at his attempts to be a good speaker...he failed miserabiy

KUALA SELANGOR, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said on Sunday he wants Selangor back in Barisan Nasional's (BN) fold.

Describing the state as the heartbeat of the country, he said, the BN has a bright chance of winning back the state provided that component parties, led by Umno, are prepared to change...

"This is my hope... my message is, if we want to win, let's act in a way that allows us to win. Let's not say we want to win but court defeats in our deeds," said Najib, who is also Selangor Umno chief.

Beware, Najib wants Selangor back, and what he wants, he gets it.

Ai yah, I don listen to the UMNO PM la. All speeches wrote by PR consultants, he only shows his reading skills. but what he really wants to tell is written by Utusan Meloya! I just scour the blogs and they wil tell me what the racist paper has written. That racist turncoat blogger who went back to Malay Mail wil also blow up what the Utusan wrote. So I know the UMNO's PM message very well.

Jealous !!!! All of you think that Malaysians are only made up of PKR supporters. WRONG !!!! We voted them in although there was a Tsunami. When there is no Tsunami, make a Guess, PKR will be History. DAP and PAS as usual will be around for the Aryan Chinese, and PAS for the extremist Muslims who disgrace Islam, a religion I practice well without the need for PAS.

What to do? Just hope the rest of the Indian community will be as enlightened as i am.

Btw i believe it is time for PR to hire your own PR agency. Perception matters. BN's offensive strategy is starting to show the desired effect.

Need to be more careful.
