Jetsetting PM & DPM

Here's an interesting question posted by Abdul Hadi Awang (MARANG) last Wednesday, and the reply from the Prime Minister's office, in case you missed it in your local papers.
And the answer?
Bagi tempoh 24 Februari sehingga 7 Mac 2008, jumlah perbelanjaan untuk penggunaan jet eksekutif adalah sebanyak RM792,325.20.
Lulu blogged it here.

Quick factoid: Candidates for parliamentary seats are permitted to spend not more than RM200,000 under the Elections Act, or be subject to disqualification.

And check out my boss getting "caught" here (or here as reported in The Star) in contrast.

Dear YB ,

The monkey's in BN has the guts to advice people to "ubah Cara Hidup " "use less petrol" and "eat less rice" .

YB Tony,
More pertinent question is why should the taxpayers pay for their campaign. Who was the caretaker govt? Their actions speak for themselves. I hope that this matter can be raised up in Parliament !

The sharp contrast set by YAB Lim is great advertisement. The Star has been given moe exposure to DAP, PKR people lately, presumably due to some pressure felt by Wong Chun Wai.

The federal government still retain a sense of feudalism, judging by the way they spend tax payers' money and the attempt to stop tax payers' money going to the state cofers elected by the people.

I hope the rural population can be awaken to this fact. Our federal government is effectively elected by the rural majority owing to gerrymandering. There must be some effort in the coming years to have balanced reporting spread into these places, Sarawak and Sabha included.

so a blatant disregard for election law that can lead to disqualification. SO WHAT ARE YOU GUYS GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

lol. did someone mention fly with airasia? That's a good idea (dont know whether they'd take that into action though)

in relation to wasting taxpayers money, if you want to take into consideration that our Agong and Kings also have "jet-setting" lifetyles for sure. I hope nobody's going to touch on that one?

Tricky right?

Please tell me something I don't already know.

The real question should be: What are YOU and your affiliates going to do about this?
