Forum: PKFZ Scandal - Still No Answers?

Despite the fact that the PKFZ scandal has bloated up to RM12.5 billion was exposed since February this year, the mystery of “Who's Dunnit?” remains completely unanswered.

Who - from the long list of current and ex-Minister of Transports, Port Klang Authority chairmans, and Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd (KDSB) chairpersons - is to be held responsible and accountable? Why has the blatant misuse of tax-payers monies not explained or revealed appropriately?

A concerted effort is being made to hide the truth. The Dewan Rakyat Speaker to immediately allow the full PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) report to be to all MPs, the Transport Minister Ong Tee Keat escaped to the “prestigious” Paris Air Show returning only to give an 8-minute ministerial non-statement, the MACC's refusal to divulge their findings to the parliamentary public accounts committee (PAC), the refusal of the PAC to summon key witnesses like the former Transport Ministers, Tun Ling Liong Sik and Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy...

The seach to uncover the truth has hit a brickwall... should we let the matter rest?
We want you to come and share your sentiments at our forum:

YB Tony,
why not cut your crap about the PKFZ scandal and see what your own backyard Penang government is doing to the plight of poor people. My only consolation is the sound knowledge that yours will be a one term Member of Parliament, Raffles Institution alumni or not.

Haha. Very simple solution.

Ask the MCA veteran to vomit out the money and give it to the poor people in Penang.

You will have enough left over for Sabah & Sarawak.

ignore pests; that's the best way to deal with such creatures.

by the way,
i) i'll be there with the family. it's a family outing.
ii) keep up the good work. smoke them worms out of their holes e.g. chan kong choy, ling liong sik, chor chee heung, that umno assemblyman from selangor - all of them.
iii) we're talking about BILLIONS here!! that's xx,000,000,000 of rakyat's money.
iv) bring them rascals to the face of justice.

What kind of edu and mentality U are getting? What crap U r talking? Billions of ringgits taken by U and BN can buy millions of land for poor people? Billions have been lost but no one is accountable. The billions taken can help those in penang you Bobozzo. Why not give the $$$ to Penang. instead, U and BN have been taking the land and make money for yourself.

Its actually amazing to see Ong Tee Keat putting on be-arrogant-and-keep-saying-I-am-right strategy to get rid of the problem. Its not lying, its just pretending and believeing power advantage will fix the problem. He knows he is screwed and problem is already out of hand but he keep his finger cross and put on a facade that hope things will just go his way and Malaysian as well as opposition politicians are just pathetic.

Its like Mahathirism to the X power - stretched just a little bit more to bump the problems over the hump of publicity and sensational news.

I just find it amazing really how detached the guy is especially given he is a son of a fishmonger but those are long days ago. Show you anyone can get lost...

I do not agree with Mr WJ Khairy. The recent poor people issue was decided by the Federal Court (no prizes guessing if the courts are fair and just) and the land was alienated to certain parties by BARISAN NASIONAL Government. Perhaps Pak Liar, Khairy or Koh TK can provide better answers as to why poor people are marginalised by BN govt.

Some people do not care much about the PKFZ issue. I wondered why? RM12.5 bil is hell lots of money. Perhaps Khairy can give everyone in Malaysia RM1. Yes just RM1 per person. RM1 is not a lot but when the whole Malaysian population is taken into account, that's RM27mil.

98% of Malaysians work till their back broke and their savings are nowhere near RM1 million (all family savings included) and yet Khairy had the cheeck to say cup the PKFZ crap. Hello!! RM12.5 bil is RM12,500,000,000, not RM12,500.

WJK, why must Tony or in fact anyone should not have dig further to unearth the truth? I believe you pay your taxes too and IF you are happy that your hard earned cash goes to the corrupt few, you are a generous guy.

OK, there might not be any corruption but if the cost can swell into extra billions, there must be something very wrong, right? Why must you (pro-UMNO) thinks it's ok. It's public's fund.

I think we as Malaysian must fight for our right. We own the country; and we are not dumb. Incompetency of a selected few costs us dear.

If there's no hanky panky, then let the case close and see how we can better manage the PKFZ.

With the benefit of hindsight, in fact, just with a bit of common sense, we would have concluded that giant failures like Perwaja, Proton and PKFZ, could have been avoided if only the leaders undertook projects which could pass the bankers' test, and not relying on public funds.

If a project failed at the beginning, it has to justify its continued existence by going through a strict test. What we have seen, especially in the case of PKFZ, was a case of a good proposal damaged by greedy politicians and their cronies at the outset, which put it through an impossible process of expected failure, as in not having enough income to even cover its loan interest. Successive revivals were based on improper guarantees by politicians which gave the impression that it was guaranteed by the government. At the way the matter is being handled, it looks like the government is indeed holding good those 'guarantees' by MCA leaders.

Now, we have the current MCA president who is again so sure of the project's viability that we are looking at yet another lifeline instead of cutting losses. Why must the public put up with assurances by politicians who are not using their own money but the public funds to take another gamble? If you ask any gambler losing at the casino, he will definitely believe that his luck will turn the next moment!

Given unlimited time limit and financial resources, almost any project can succeed at a certain time in the future. But is it fair to be using scarce public funds to justify a project for no other reason than admitting a mistake? Throw in poor governance and we can see continued failure until a change of government to put a stop to all these nonsense.

It is amusing how a PKFZ scandal, admitted as it is, can be compared to a Penang issue especially when the 'plight of poor people' is being talked about.

Furthermore statements that display poor attempt to link two separate issues as one only shows to the world the amount of intelligence in such postings.

Raffles Institution alumni or not.

Wanker J K,

You write well in English but your arguments are the usual Umno crap. Get a life away from Umno politics and you just might become a decent human being.

@Wenger J Khairy

your childish comment damaged the good esteem I was having for you. I am disappointed. Once a crony, always a crony, right? You guys have to stick together, I guess.

I am personally ashamed to see Bintulu MP, cum KDSB CEO, happily shouting away insults at other YBs, with not even as much as a slap on the wrist. The fact this disgusting fella is not even ashamed to show his fat-cat face around in times of recession has ruined all the goodwill Umno's PM may have managed to reap with his two-face talk. It is unbelievable you BN guys fail to get this.

See you there tonight.
