Blogging Pasir Salak

I wrote about the Yang Berhormat from Pasir Salak at the start of the previous parliamentary session, on the fact that he's an unapologetic Malay nationalist of the ketuanan Melayu mold. Together with the so-called independent, Yang Berhormat from Pasir Mas, Ibrahim Ali, they lead the charge of Malay rights in the parliament, taking no prisoners, be they ministers or opposition MPs.

About a week or two after my blog post, he confronted (not in the violent sense) me on my blog post which "hentam" him, to which I said, if need to "hentam", must "hentam"-lah. It was quite amusing because he carried the print out of my blog post with him (and wanted to show it to me ;-)). He went on to gripe the fact that I spend my time blogging in parliament instead of debating, which is what I should be doing. I didn't bother challenging his views.

Then I had another "bow and scrape" with him at the end of last session blogged here.

Last week, there was another little amusing, shake-your-head, laugh-out-loud-inside type incident. Check out the text from the Hansard here, and posted below. It all started when Pasir Salak started his spill on the fact that while the public universities (IPTA) have a majority of bumiputera students, the private universities (IPTS) have very few of them i.e., he wanted the Ministry of Higher Education to ensure that there are "proportionate" numbers of bumiputera students in these institutions as well(!)
Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Saya minta penjelasan.
All these colleges almost 90% dengan izin, student dia bukan bumiputera. Give me an example please, dengan izin.

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: [Bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]
(This was the part I kept shouting "Kosmopoint" as an example of such a private university - I didn't switch on my mic)

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Ya? Apa dia?

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: [Bercakap tanpa pembesar suara]
(This was the part I repeated "Kosmopoint" as an example of such a private university)

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Belum jadi menteri lagi, jangan
jawab! [Ketawa]

Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin: Menteri ada pembantu... [Ketawa]

Shortly after that, came another short episode:
Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Okey, okey, sedikit sahaja.
Penjelasan Yang Berhormat, Yang Berhormat kan hendak habis? Saya minta, okeylah.

Dato' Ibrahim Ali [Pasir Mas]: [Bangun]

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: [Bangun]

(I got up at this stage with the intention to "fry" Pasir Salak on his dangerously race-based approach whereby the free market where students have a choice in choosing their schools have also to come under quota controls. Unfortunately the Minister of Higher Education didn't give me the floor to rebutt.)

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Ronald Kiandee]: Ahli Yang Berhormat, tidak boleh bangun masa sekarang Yang Berhormat. Menteri menjawab, baru Yang Berhormat bangun.

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Main bloglah kat situ. Buka komputer itu, do the blogging. That is your job, blogging. [Ketawa] Blog sahaja tidak habis-habis. Daripada dahulu sampai hari ini...

Puan Fong Po Kuan [Batu Gajah]: [Menyampuk]

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: Okeylah.. [main blog] tetap boleh menang tu!
So, essentially, Pasir Salak has 2 problems. First, he has a problem with the fact that non-bumiputeras deserves equal rights to quality education in this country. And second, he has a problem with blogging as a valid and progressive means of communication with our constituency, and our form of dialogue/discussion with Malaysians and voters.

One would have thought that for someone who lives in one of the wealthiest districts in Kuala Lumpur, would have better sense than that. He had boasted (pg 132) in parliament that he was the former founder of DRB Hicom and an expert in the automotive industry as well (!).
Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Saya bercakap asalnya dahulu.

Beberapa Ahli: Woo!

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Ya. I was the founder of DRB Group for your information. You jangan main-main, 30 tahun dahulu saya sudah melawat semua kilang-kilang kereta di negeri Jepun, Korea, Seoul dengan izin, you don’t know me, you don’t talk. Your experience is nothing just like this.

Tuan Haji Mahfuz bin Omar [Pokok Sena]: Hey, angin nampak hari ini.

Dato' Haji Tajuddin bin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Tak. Dia cuba under estimate,
what do you know about automotive industry?, I want to ask you!

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Ronald Kiandee]: Yang Berhormat.

Dato' Haji Tajuddin bin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Berbalik kepada soal Proton.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Ronald Kiandee]: MITI Yang Berhormat, MITI.
It's really quite hilarious sometimes. But he is fortunate that he contested in Pasir Salak (Perak) and not say, Kota Raja or Titiwangsa in the Klang Valley.

Regardless, I did receive a beautiful invitation card from him for his daughter's wedding dinner last weekend, which I was unfortunately unable to attend. Congratulations are due nevertheless. ;-)

sad isn't it? i think he felt threatened because he knows nuts about internet or blogging. stand your ground and as long as you are right, the truth will be known. keep up the good work and no need to give face to all these dinosaurs too much. they are just a bunch of bullies and when they don't get their way, they just throw tantrums.

YB Pasir Salak,

We are entering 21st century with the new era and technology, if we still boasting and thinking of who we are for the past 20 or 30 years, the time will kick us out cruelly.

Pasir Salak, Pasir Salak.

It's a very good thing that he didn't stand in any of the urban districts. I've heard many who said they would have no qualms whatsoever on throwing him out.

If you visited all those factories in Japan but your mind is still stuck rubber-tapping in Malaysia, what's the use, eh?

Keep up the coverage, Yang Berhormat!

YB TONY
What do you expect a donkey to do but " hehaw hehaw" all the time. I suspect a majority of the MPs have this so called medical problem endemic in Malaysia called " Recto Cranial Inversion" syndrome or put in laymen terms as " Head in the A**E syndrome.Every time they talk only S**T comes out

At least Tony is blogging and not SLEEPING as that some one!

Haa..haa..haa, does Pasik Salak realised that Malaysians has got to pay for their education at private Universities. It is not free! No private universities are stopping any one from entering their institution as long as the candidate meets the entry qualification and can afford to pay for their fees.

How greedy some people are. They have got the whole lot of freebies and now they want a share of paid private education. If the candidate can pay then go ahead. If not then don't ask for subsidies.

I'd rather be reading blogs than the nonsense being spilled in the mass media.

Wonder did he think of the reasons why the colleges have high non-bumi enrollments - ask him to check out the quota for the local universities and also the quality of the education in there.

Why does it always have to end up with some non-bumi this and bumi that kind of discussion? Don't they have MPs that are good enough to have a proper and educated discussion?

Kepada YB Pasir Salak,

2.) Is there any standing order prohibits MP blogging in the Parliament? Else, what is there for you to keep making noise and feeling hard about that? WHat is your problem?

Thanks

His display of ignorance is clear. What I wonder is

1) Is it on purpose? If so, then its not so bad..

2) Its not on purpose which makes him dangerous. I have always believed that a semi-educated man is more dangerous and burden than a totally uneducated one. An uneducated man harm himself but not others. A semi-educated man can cause harm to many others. This guy is the most semi-educated person that it can get.

Yg Berkhidmat Tony,
Stay true and focus on issues at hand, do not allow these 'Hyenas' to rid you of your work. Pasir Salak MP boasts of years of experience and etc, with full support of bodeks and ampus from his minions and YET he engagegd in trivial issues. He is trying to divert the main question by using a classic tactic, character assasination on you.

As for blogging, ask him if he knows what's blogging? Kalau tak pernah blog, jangan cakap! and for 'coup de grace' ask if he needs a 'pembantu' to help him start a blog.

Selamat Berkhidmat, Tony!

Just continue with your good work.

Accept the knocks ,criticisms and bullying as part of your "politician training". He is just trying to bully and intimidate a "newbie". It's part of the "wayang-wayang" here...

Tajuddin Abdul Rahman is a hot-tempered man. I have whacked him three years ago when he challenged Nga Kor Ming for a fight outside Perak State Assembly when Nga tabled a motion on haze problems.

Media statement by DAPSY Assistant National Publicity Secretary Lau Weng San in Petaling Jaya on Wednesday, 17th August 2005.

DAPSY strongly condemns BN Perak ADUN for Kampung Gajah, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman for his uncivilized act of threatening to beat DAP ADUN for Pantai Remis, Nga Kor Ming, and demand an open apology from him to Nga Kor Ming and the State Assembly Hall.

It was the darkest day in the history of the Parak State Asembly Hall when DAP ADUN for Pantai Remis was threatened to be beaten by BN Perak ADUN for Kampung Gajah, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman.

DAPSY strongly condemns such uncivilized, irrational and unlawful act as such act is a total disregard of the State Assembly Hall.

Nga was tabling his motion to debate the issue of haze in Parak and would like the Mentri Besar to respond on measures taken by the State Government to create awareness among the people of Perak in order to inform the people about the occurrence of hazy weather in Perak.

Nga was certainly acting in good faith and genuine intention without any will to provoke anybody else. And it was his responsible as a Wakil Rakyat to voice out the concern of the people. There is no reason to justify why Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman to act in such uncivilized manner.

Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman should explain what had gone wrong with Nga’s motion when he tabled a motion to debate the issue of haze in Perak that he have to retaliate in such manner.

Or Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman merely felt that the hazy weather which caused the Federal Government to implement state of emergency in Klang and Kuala Selangor, is not a matter of utmost urgency that concerns the benefit of Rakyat?

Failing to explain so, Datuk Tajuddin Abdul Rahman himself should apology based on following 4 reasons, viz:
1. that he had acted in an unruly and uncivilized manner in threatening Nga.
2. that he should tender an open apology to Nga for behaving in an unruly manner.
3. that he had also tarnished the good image of the State Assembly Hall, as never in the history of the State Assembly Hall that an ADUN was threatened to be beaten by another ADUN.
4. that he should also tender an open apology to the State Assembly Hall for such act.

Good job! Tony. Getting to like your blog more and more!

Sad to see the attitude of some of the MPs. Wonder if he was a gangster or an automotive master. How could he be so proud of visiting foreign factories. Who couldnt visit factories? He should talk about his achievement, innovation, creation, etc in automotive industry and be proud of that, shouldnt he?

Yb Tony Phua,

The Govt should revamp their attitude, starting with a motto (which is what they do best) 'Professional, Accountable and No-nonsense'. A bit of jibe and jokes at work is fine, but this borders ridicule and disrespect.

Dear Tony
This BLOCKHEAD is known the world over as UMNO's Neo Nazi. All one need to do is to go to the Google search engine and type out his Shit-head name. Viola! And one would find a very uncomplimentary article on him under the blog http://dansemacabre.wordpress.com.
Look at his photo and one would realise that he bears close resemblance to the prominent Nazis such as Adolf Eichmann, Dr Josef Mengele & Henrich Himmler.
This Scumhead Tajuddin Abdul Rahman is a true racist of the Sewage Order!
Tony please continue to put up his speeches in Parliament in your Blog.
Regards
Your supporter from PJ Utara

Its amazing how someone of that intellectual level can get elected as MP.

But thats UMNO.

Thank you for introducing a little bit of the 21st century into Parliament and keeping your constituent informed.

I don't how you can keep from laughing out loud at these sessions.
