Kicked Out of Parliament - Hansard

Here's the official Hansard version of what happened yesterday before I got kicked out. Judge for yourself whether I was even trying to be kicked out. The parliament Hansard is quoted verbatim, unabridged.
[I was standing waiting to be given the opportunity to seek clarification from Pasir Salak, who was speaking.]

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat PJ Utara apa berdiri ini? Kalau hendak berdiri lama-lama macam itu kat luar berdiri. Dia tidak bagi peluang Yang Berhormat.

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: Dia tidak...

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Dia tidak bagi Yang Berhormat.

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua...

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat, dia punya floor Yang Berhormat. Saya bagi peluang dia bercakap.

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Tuan Yang di-Pertua...

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: Saya berdiri di sini tunggu. Saya tidak bising!

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat hendak gaduh dengan saya kah macam mana ini? Saya suruh Yang Berhormat duduk ataupun keluar Duduk ataupun keluar Yang Berhormat? Dia tidak bagi peluang dengan Yang Berhormat untuk mencelah.

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: Dia tidak kata tidak boleh!

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat, tadi kita sudah dengar Yang Berhormat Ipoh Timur bercakap Yang Berhormat.

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: Saya tidak buat salah pun!

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat, dengar cakap saya Yang Berhormat!

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: Saya tidak buat apa-apa!

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Duduk, duduk Yang Berhormat.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Itulah..

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Duduk sekejaplah.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Dengar, dengar Yang Berhormat. Kalau saya suruh duduk Yang Berhormat kena duduk. Walaupun dia bagi, saya suruh duduk, duduk juga Yang Berhormat.

Seorang Ahli: Suruh dia keluar Tuan Yang di-Pertua! Lawan tauke pula.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat, duduk Yang Berhormat.

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: [Bercakap tanpa menggunakan pembesar suara]

[This is the part where he switched off my mike. I was telling the speaker that I will sit if he asks me to sit, but don't scold me for something which I did not do wrong, and he should be fair to me. I sat down after having said my piece.]

Dato' Haji Tajuddin Abdul Rahman [Pasir Salak]: Terima kasih Tuan Yang di-Pertua.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Kita kena berani dengar orang lain punya cakap juga Yang Berhormat.

[I immediately got pissed with the speaker's snide remarks, and stood up again]

Tuan Pua Kiam Wee [Petaling Jaya Utara]: Saya berani! Saya berani dengar, saya tidak buat bising.

Timbalan Yang di-Pertua [Datuk Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar]: Yang Berhormat, saya minta Yang Berhormat keluar daripada Dewan sampai habis petang ini. Sila Yang Berhormat. Sila keluar Yang Berhormat.

[Dewan riuh]
The way I was thrown out, if the Speakers all maintain the same position, at least 5 MPs will be thrown out each day, if not more. It was just ridiculous.

If you want to see more, watch this Youtube clip of last year's session when Pasir Salak uttered "bloodily Bastard" at opposition MPs but this same speaker who suspended me, didn't even send him out for even half-a-day.

Those bloody bastards! They act like there's no law, or make up new ones when it suits them. In fact, all the civil servants do the same. They interpret whatever they like, just to make trouble for the law abiding citizens.

We knows what kind of ruling MP and speker is? Dont we. The ruling can do anything even utter sarcastic words but the oppostision can even stand up to speak the truth. If u stand up and support all the dirty thing and bribe their leader did and cover them up they will even give u the whole day to speak. Najis cocks we the bunch of them.

Don't be such a baby.
You know as an Opposition MP you are given less leeway so stop trying to justify your poor judgement in antagonising the Speaker.

You lived in Singapore where Opposition MPs are at risk of being thrown in jail just for making comments yet they manage not to get themselves thrown out of Parliament because they're rude.

Show some dignity and common sense instead of acting like some street samseng, looking to pick a fight over the most trivial issues.

You were elected to do a job in Parliament - and that is not to be summarily ejected because you lack manners.

Do your job. Hansard is also a record of your job performance.

Lisa,
Lets be clear about Singapore, its oppositions & your comment about opposition MPs kenna thrown into jails
First of all, that Chee Soon Juan fella deliverately wanna provoke the system by deliberately going against the law. If That Chee Soon Juan & SDP folks would have the same decorum that Malaysian opposition parlimentaries have. Chee shall not face any problems. I am not going to go at length to discuss about Chees' antics.
Secondly, I remember Chiam See Tong, a revered OPPOSITION MP in Singapore sue PAP for DEFAMATION & won. Well, I am not saying that Singapore judiciary system is perfect. It's much better than Malaysia. Ask Tunku Abdul Aziz. By the way, the Chief Justice comes from my hometown, Ipoh

Lisa,
It'd be an INSULT & DISGRACE to associate any Malaysian parliamentarians with Chees & SDP. They are allowed to contest in Sembawang GRC against a group of 6 MPs led by another Penangite born Minister, Khaw. SDP was defeated soundly.

Lisa,
Lets be clear about this....I think Tony has done the right thing. In fact, if in Singapore, all motions proposed by Malaysian oppositions by their standard could have gone through

Lisa,
Have you heard of the Motion proposed by Norminated MP in Singapore. Titled Motion to have By-Election in Bukit Batok.
For your background information, Ong Chit Chung passed away. According to constituition, by election not necessary in GRC unless half of the members resigned.
Abdullah Tarmugi, Speaker allowed that motion. It was debated healthily.

Lisa,
Please be clear about your facts when you discuss politics. This is how Chiam See Tong has survived so long without kenna sued & even sue PAP & won.

Lisa,

Well, doing your job is one thing, but when the Deputy Speaker wasn't doing his job, it's the prerogative of the YB to stand firm on what he believes in and questioned his ruling too.

How would you react when you're unfairly treated? Just be fair.

Lisa,
If you are not blind, you are STUPID.
The one acting like a samseng is the deputy speaker. If tony is not getting up to try and speak in parliament, he is not doing his job.
Syabas YB Tony. Speak for us. Speak like a True HERO!

i think the point lisa is trying to make is to pick your fights. so what did you get out of this bravado? you seriously think you get more respect out of the playground-like exchange? ever so often it's better to walk away and pick your battle. look how riled up you got and i bet it kills productivity in you dealing with more serious issues henceforth.

Sinleong,
I am neither blind nor stupid. I am a member of the electorate who would like to see the MP she voted for do the job for which he was intended to do.

What exactly was the question that Tony Pua wanted to ask so badly that he couldn't sit down? We'll never know now because Tony Pua never got to ask the question before he was thrown out.

In the interest of fairness, the electorate has lost out because the opportunity for him to have posed that question and had it answered in Parliament is now gone.

Anonymous, my comment about Singapore politics is totally relevent in that we all know that in Singapore the Opposition MPs face greated obstacles yet they still manage to do their jobs to provide some balance to the onesideness of PAP's policies.

Anonymous, how can Tony Pua be effective if he gets thrown out of Parliament and suspended?

Anonymous, you may not be concerned about how the Federal Govt is spending your money but I am and I expect my elected rep to do the job that HE CAMPAIGNED for my vote to do.

Anonymous, Tony Pua's incessant need to make a spectacle of himself by walking out of Parliament, getting thrown out of Parliament, clashing with the police and embroiling himself in the affairs of Perak is not to anyone in his constituency's benefit.

Just my observation, I believe that the incident of "Tony vs the speaker" should not be isolated and be picked upon.

I am sure some of you have watched videos from other sites whereby it was claimed that members of the ruling coalition have behaved rambunctious, which is far worse compared to how Tony had behaved, if his conduct could be even considered a misbehavior in the first place.

In short, those people never received such consequence when they behaved far worse in comparison to what the speaker thought of Tony's conduct.

We would not even know if the speaker would have allowed Tony to ask his questions even if Tony had "abide" the speaker, seeing that history has proven its "fairness" towards the opposition coalition.

Imagine this:

As you passed by a street bully on your back home today, you had some eye-contact with him.

The bully, being the bully he was, came yelling at you and pounding on you because he thought you were staring at him.

Who is to blame? Lisa seems to suggest that you are to be blame.

Why?

Because bully, being a bully is best at bullying people. So if you provoked the bully, you are wrong. Even if the bully is the bully.

More importantly, in this case, the bully would have picked on you anyway - whether you provoked him or not.

If the speaker could have banned Tony for such trivial things, what is to stop the speaker from banning an opposition MP for even more trivial things in the future.

Lisa said, "how can Tony Pua be effective if he gets thrown out of Parliament...". I say, "you are right, how can Tony be effective if the speaker throws him out?". Conclusion? the speaker should not have thrown him. Please place your blame on the right person.

Lisa's mentality is as if to bow or kowtow to the 'bad' in order to get things done. In corporate term, it's kissing your bosses' @ss to get promotion. It's this mentality that allowed BN to be in power all this while. Sad.

please lah, you knew the drill - it's obvious that the speaker is biased. why must you defy it and play hero ? why can't you just obey the speaker which would save you from being thrown out and make yourself relevant for pju voters....

It was ridiculous but for underlying reason behind it. In the end it was about them trying to insult you and failing to do so. Junaidi basically for whatever reason felt the need to get some upper hand perhaps even on you specifically. When he basically could not some wire snapped and he went bonkers...
