Jetsetting PM & DPM II

Heh, thanks to the sharp memory of the moderators of Berita Malaysia, I was reminded that the Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general then, had himself advised "component parties of the coalition against using government facilities, including public buildingsand canopies, for the March 8 general election campaign."
[Datuk Seri Mohd Radzi Sheikh Ahmad] said they would have to apply to lease the facilities if they wanted to use them. The BN should be cautious so as to avert problems which might crop up later following the use of government facilities during the campaign, he told reporters after attending an election briefing pertaining to the Kangar parliamentary constituency near here.
Now, the BN Secretary advises one thing, and the BN Chief and Deputy Chief completely defied the "advise". I do wonder if BN has applied to "lease" the jet facilities, and if so, how much is BN paying for these services. After all, their use of the services cost the Government a whopping RM792,000!

Is there anything to prosecute them lawfully for breach of terms?

RM700,000 is indeed a huge sum of money. But i suppose it's the same for leaders from other nations too to fly on private jets? Well, isnt it not? Maybe it's for safety reason, especially so for the elections.

But saying that, maybe they should think of other cost-friendly AND safe ways to travel next time.

My God! What a waste of money when the poor rakyat is suffering and they are busy enjoying the luxuries of life at the expense of rakyat suffering! Its no better than Nero playing the violin while Rome burned.
Sometimes I wonder when the leaders talk about understanding the rakyaat whether they are true to the words or are they wearing horns on their forehead and a spiked tail at the end? God save our nation....!

Can the PM and DPM 's constituency results be nulled/voided due to them breaking the election laws?

Well, I guess flying here and there comes with perks offered as being the most powerful persons on Bolehland. Well, I was wondering whether this contravenes with election laws ? I thought each candidate can only spend Rm100K at most? Public money was spent during that time and for what purpose? For god's sake, stop flying around....

Suziati, u missed the point...they are no longer the PM or DPM after the parliament was dissolved hence they have no right to abuse goverment property & tax payers money for their election campaign, simple as that.

Abdullah ask the rakyat to change lifestyle to cope with rising food price today, i would like to ask abdullah to shut up as he spent tens of millions to renovate his official residency in putrajaya every single year, not forgetting spending millions to feast and party as well. So u just shut up!

I was told by an Indonesian construction worker that if a politician even used a govt car to a village during campaigning, it would be highlighted by the press and the villagers would booed the politicians even the President...

Looks like Malaysian political awareness is worst than Indonesian construction workers and villagers...

Tony,

Before we talk about the political awareness YB, what is the possibility of you looking into the substance and champion the issue of our Chinese interest and human rights in Malaysia?

Kindly view http://andyksyong.wordpress.com/
Thank you.

i think the govt should manage the money well. because of that, all the things now in malaysia increased. why is it so?

and a down to earth politicians might save the nation as well.

anonymous: parliament dissolved or not, PM and DPM have their sets of enemies. safety first. you choose to look too much into negative things. how come i don't see you complaining about sending the man to the moon? suziati is right. how come nobody voiced out when westerners fly in jets?

Here's a contrast I believe. Most of PR leaders travelled by road while BN leaders travel by plane during campaigning. Here we have a PM who preach to the public not to waste $$$. Something is truly wrong & we have someone like that leading the country. Investigate the CBT of government funds & make sure all the 700-800K misused are repaid personally or by BN back to the Tax-Payers account.

Indeed we should change our life style as advised by the PM. Otherwise how are we going to finance him travelling ...

I think Tony should bring out this issue on public

Then they should take the public transport just like all of us. They can't do that rite? They are the leaders of the country. Definitely need to travel, at least in a safe and guarded way to avoid any mishap to happen. Rite?

Imagine they took the public transport to meet at King, to discuss on a serious life and death issue. But no the way, accident and died. Then who to deliver that message. We that time will be more dead than alive.

Dear YAB Tony

Pls make a police report on this issue (it's as good as an admittance to CBT) & see if our PDRM/ACA is as efficient in making or demanding our present PM & DPM to record their statements like they did to RPK (PJ or KL, up to the PDRM)...if PDRM can react to reports like the indelible ink, no reason why they don't react to CBT case report. Unless double standards practise is a norm & PM / DPM are above the Law.

How come this issue not highlighted in the SUN? or this I miss it as well...coz it was only printed on a small corner where everyoned has missed out.

I hope the showing of non-BN leaders being "humble" and their act of using the public transport, kancils and flying economy class will remain even after they have been YBs for years. Because you do remember that fame, fortune and power can change these people too. In the future, they could also be demanding jet-setters and being driven in the latest whatever class Mercedes Benz.

RPK in prison. I do not know how to post this on Malaysia Today. Hope this suggestion reaches Tony Pua. Can sombody organise a weekend where all Malaysians can wear a T-shirt with "Free RPK from prison" printed on it. Can you imagine if the numbers are large enough, it will show the powers to be how alienated they are from the people and the election results is not a freak. Also, I'm sure we get the message across loud and clear and cannot be accused of breaking the law.

I AM VERY SURE IN THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION DAP AND THE PAKATAN RAKYAT WILL WIN BY A LAND SLIDE VICTORY IF THESE BN AND UNNO PRACTICES KEEP GOING ON!!

GO ON UNMO! GO ON BN,! KEEP DOING THE THINGS YOU ARE DOING AND YOU WILL SEE WHERE YOU WILL BE HEADING!
