Teachers & Students Threatened

In the face of widespread public criticism, particularly on the Internet with regards to the issue that my DAP colleague, ADUN for Subang Jaya, Hannah Yeoh has been "banned" from the school prefects reunion which is being held outside of the school as blogged here earlier.

Now, the teachers and prefects of the school are threatened further by the school authorities that action will be taken if they were to attend the event and Hannah is present. Hannah has updated on her blog that:
I have just received a call informing me that a meeting has been held in their school this morning further threatening the prefects and even the teachers - if they attend the reunion, they will be sacked. Some people think this is a minor issue.

This is not a petty or a political issue. Teachers who want to attend the function to see their ex-students also face the threat of losing their jobs. Looks like the leadership style of the principal or the education ministry is nothing but suppression.
This is becoming a complete farce and I'll definitely find the appropriate opportunity in Parliament to berate the Minister of Education on this issue. What a farce.

Poor Hannah! It is indeed a farcical situation when the Education Ministry under BN shows this level of pettiness. It shows a govt that feels defensive & vulnerable & bankrupt of ideas. 50 years of incumbency rots the brains. The buku pinjaman scheme is a joke. Parents are still forking out extra for discretionary funds in schools. You guys in DAP and Pakatan are doing a sterling job. A few setbacks are normal. Keep up the good work, Tony! http://ctchoolaw.blogspot.com/

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ok! There are many schools looking for good teachers! If they want sack, go ahead!

Tony, just form a committee to help find PRIVATE schools for these teachers to teach. Better pay anyway.

When they find they have no teachers, let's see who will beg.

Excellent chance for another setback, created by themselves!

See how shameless and small minded the authority is. Even school matters are politicised. No wonder the country's education is all screwed up.

It only goes to show that our Education Ministry is led by immatured kids. What a shame!

Oi MCA, Gerakan, MIC what do you have to say to this. Still follow party line ah. BN members following the party line is like the samseng mentality. Meaning it does not matter whether you are right or wrong, as long as you don't support my gang I wallup you even if it means i am in the wrong.
BN cannot change from within. We need a new government but let the BN be a strong opposition.

There is a difference between UMNO and Barisan Nasional. I want to make it clear that it is not the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, but the UMNO government. It is not the government, but UMNO. Barisan Nasional is a coalition of unequals, not equals. UMNO is the big brother in BN. Therefore UMNO must be held responsible; and more importantly, UMNO must not be allowed to hide behind the BN banner. UMNO is the enemy, not BN.

I have come to the conclusion that the easy solution is to completely defeat UMNO in the next elections.

In the 2004 elections (11th General Election), the voters gave good support to Mr.Abdullah Badawi. But reforms did not come. Why? Probably because UMNO had done well in the elections. If UMNO had done well in the elections, then the election results tell UMNO that the voters are satisfied with the status quo. If the voters are satisfied with UMNO, then no reforms are necessary. In the 2008 elections (12th General Elections), UMNO did not do well, but she managed to win. UMNO did lose the 2/3 majority in the Parliament, but she did win, nevertheless. Will UMNO undertake reforms now? I would not be surprised if she did not. Why should she? UMNO is still the winner in the elections; and she can plan to rise and may even succeed to rise again. So, as long as she wins, she will never undertake the reforms. So, how do the voters get the reforms that they need? The voters will get the reforms when UMNO is completely defeated in the 13th General Elections. If UMNO wins zero seats in the next elections (13th General Elections), then some other party would have to rule Malaysia. Let us call it Party B. If UMNO is completely defeated in the next elections (13th General Elections), then Party B would rule Malaysia. Would Party B undertake reforms? If Party B does not undertake reforms, then voters would know what to do.

There is no doubt that UMNO has used gerrymandering to strengthen herself. If we removed gerrymandering from UMNO, then there would be a reduced UMNO. So the non-UMNO voters of Malaysia have good reasons to vote against UMNO.

It is possible that UMNO has used the Police Force to strengthen herself. The Police Force is required to be neutral. But is the Police Force neutral? I appeal to the Police Force to be neutral.

UMNO is a race based political party and also the big brother of BN. So, the complete defeat of UMNO in the next elections is the only way to get reforms. The complete defeat of UMNO in the next elections is the only way to get a new beginning.

UMNO is inclined to believe that Malaysians cannot do anything if they are in any way dissatisfied. The voters, however, have to send a strong message to UMNO that the voters can do something: the voters can vote.

So, the next step for Malaysians is to completely defeat UMNO in the next elections.

Not a very good news for PR especially PKR. Are they cracking?
Reformist not happy with the way PR or PKR doing things. Will they behave as the old regime did before?
Too excited with the unexpected power fall into their hand, hence do not know how to handle it thus another kind of power crazy. Buck up PR & PKR! Everybody is looking at the way you all do things and expectation is sky high. Please crack your brain and move forwrd as fast as possible. People's patience has reached a critical level where they demand you all to fulfill the promises. 100 days already but many say nothing being done, same as before. You all cannot keep on saying 'give us the time and we are still new, no experiences! Nay! that's not the excuse. If so, then shouldn't join the race in the first place and giving all the false hope and promises. Remember, people's patience has reached the limit before they throw you all out and return back to the old path they used to it.

As an alumni from the same school as Hannah Yeoh, i feel deeply ashamed by the school authority to do so. They have no good reasons whatsoever to deny Hannah's right. What is wrong with being a politician (not opposition but part of state government)?

I will throw all my support to you to question the minister in Parliament for this issue. I don't view it as spoling my school's good name, but it's totally necessarily to remove the selfish feudal-minded school bureaucrats.
That is the reason why our education system always have problems from Primary school up to higher education.

Haih, what a shame!
