Education needs to be appreciated. And it should not come free. It ain't commodity like air. I paid for my education. Why can't younger kids do the same? We don't need a bunch of low quality free paying engineers, investment bankers coming out of university. A college or university degree does not even guarantee quality. Awarding more scholarship and supports would have been a more cost effective and far more efficient method. If we want more professionals, lower the education standards. If we want less professionals, increase the education standards. Have you heard lots of smart, intelligent young students unable to enter universities or colleges to further their studies? The income that they will receive during their working life will pay back their education fees. And they still have to pay their taxes too. Multiple wins for Malaysia. When we make education free, we are subsiding corporate world, by spending money to provide talent for them. That is also a form of inefficiency, and also invisible corruption.LokGPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01737115805754379419noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37045477.post-49317133971528945182013-01-18T10:53:01.134+08:002013-01-18T10:53:01.134+08:00I can well believe it. My uncle told him that RM25.30 was the bill and that the change was supposed to be RM24.70 but the silly bugger actually insisted he was right! It took the whole bunch of servers and cashiers more than half an hour to finally get it right!! Great Malaysian Education System! liyeaphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16245554040515601360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-37045477.post-12195124418774387702013-01-15T17:03:56.199+08:002013-01-15T17:03:56.199+08:00As a maths teacher, I can vouch that our PMR and S...As a maths teacher, I can vouch that our PMR and SPM maths results are blatantly manipulated. I have many students who failed mathematics consistently, and yet, they passed in the SPM. While we talk about criterion reference test, our Examination Syndicate is practising manipulated score test with a passing mark being lowered to 15%. If one doesn't reach the criterion set, say 40%, then by all means, fail them! Maybe racist decision is involved in that by setting 40% as passing, many Malalys will fail in their maths; hence the lowering, or manipulating if you like, of passing marks to 15%. However, for papers taken almost entirely by non-Malays such as Moral and Chinese papers, the passing marks have been raised to 90, and hence, difficult to get an A in these subjects.
